living room inspiration

In the next few days I'll be moving flat with Craig and all I seem to be doing is daydreaming about all the pretty things I'm going to need to buy to furnish it. We deliberately went for an unfurnished flat this time - living in a property for three and half years with other people's stuff has put me off ever living anywhere that's not been furnished by me. We've been dealing with awful green carpets, magnolia paint on everything and old floral wallpaper, not pretty! We still have a lot to pack and prepare for the move, so naturally, I'm sat here typing this. This is sort of productive though as I'm mapping out how I want the flat to look. No? Okay.

The deal so far is that Craig gets the spare bedroom for a games room, so he can hibernate in there with his PS4 and PC. It's probably where my Nintendo stuff will be as well, so I might spend a lot of time in there, too. If he gets the spare room, then I get to decorate the flat to how I like it. Within reason. We seem to have very different styles when it comes to home decor, so I'll need to be careful on what I buy to make sure he likes it. Or, I just buy it in little dribs and drabs and build up all the nice things over time and he won't notice.

I'm really loving the idea of having a grey couch, with colourful pillows and blankets. I'm leaning more towards pops of pink and mint with maybe copper and gold thrown in as well. I also want to get a huge rug for the living room. As far as I can remember it should be wooden flooring so a big rug will work perfectly. I've added in a few bits of copper and bronze as I love the look of that frame copper/rose gold candle holder! Add in a few houseplants and flowers, a few prints on the walls and some white furniture and bam, dream living room complete.

I'm just hoping Craig won't think it's too girly, he might not notice. Or, he can decorate the spare room any way he wants and we can compromise.

I should probably get back to packing now. I recently discovered that I own an unfathomable amount of stuff that I seem to have gathered over the years so I'm doing a serious clean out. That, coupled with all the cleaning and organising means I'm very time restricted. Hopefully it won't take too long, those Pinterest boards aren't going to make themselves and I've got more daydreaming to do!

currently lusting

I haven't posted a wishlist in a good few months so with Christmas just around the corner, what better time to put together a list of everything I've currently been staring at either online or in a store, and haven't had the nudge to buy... yet.

As someone who already owns around twenty planners or so, of course I need three more. I have been wanting a Kate Spade planner for around a year now and when they released their 2015 editions for 2016 my heart melted when I seen the Rose Gold version. Rose Gold with light pink interior and gold rings. Honestly, I think about trying to buy one almost every day. There is also a black version with a dark pink interior, but I prefer the rose gold. There is also a mint planner from Kikki-K there, which is a beautiful, too. I never need an excuse to purchase from them anyway, even more so now with them opening a store in London!

I've also been lusting after a cute little Pandora ring for a while, especially one with a blue or mint stone. They're so simple and plain, which is exactly what I love about them, I'm not one for overly flashy jewellery. Along with things like cat phone cases, simple desk chairs and beautiful copper bowls, I've been looking at a lot of patterned and textured blankets, bed sheets and pillows. I especially love the intricate design on the bed sheets above from Urban Outfitters. I've also been looking into buying the white foundation from Illamasqua to mix in with my normal foundations, which are still too dark for my skin. I wish high street foundations came in paler colours!

Seeing as a Scottish winter is mainly just rain and sleet I've been looking at buying a sturdy pair of boots and since I've been wanting a pair of Doc Martens for years, I thought I'd add them to my list. I'm not really a fan of all the multicoloured boots, so I've popped these plain black ones in.  They're also meant to be great quality and long lasting so really what I'd be buying is an investment in warm feet for a few years, at least that's what I'm telling the boyfriend anyway. Speaking of long lasting, I put a few cactus plants in there, they are super cute and they seem to be the only plants that I can keep alive. I suck at remembering to water them.

Maybe Craig will see this wishlist and it'll give him a few ideas for presents. He always complains that girls are hard to buy for, so ta-da. I think I might have to purchase a few of these items for myself, Merry Christmas from me to me!

love,

Wishlist - living room inspiration

Pinterest is a bad influence on me. After considering moving flat with Craig, Pinterest has been my go-to for inspiration. I do love a good home inspiration board, I think everyone who has a Pinterest account has one, so I don't feel too weird for browsing for hours on end. Everything in this wishlist is just perfect! I cannot wait to actually move (or buy, depending on how much we can save), and to find a nice open flat, with clean white walls and wooden floors. In fact, anything like Kate's flat would be ideal. She has a beautiful flat.

I will get my dream flat one day. Until then, Pinterest wishlists will do.

my favourite pinterest board!

I've recently started using Pinterest properly and I have to say that my favourite things to pin are beautiful pictures of people's home decor, like every other person on Pinterest! I love to look through all the photos and wish that someday that my home will look half as good as some of the photos shown below. It really does give inspiration as well as quite a bit of envy. It's not as bad considering I don't own my own home yet, but when I do, this board will definitely be helping me out with decoration ideas.

If you use Pinterest, let me know so I can follow you! I'm only following 6 people so I really need more, haha.

a girl can dream

Another wishlist post, another set of items that I'm lusting after. The Converse I actually have now, but for the sake of the post, let's just say that I'd like to own a few more pairs. I've noticed that most of my wishlists tend to feature a watch of some kind, and this beautiful Olivia Burton watch is no exception. I love the plain face and strap, it's just gorgeous. I'll be hinting at that shortly, Christmas isn't too far away now! I've recently ran out of the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish, so will definitely be heading back to purchase that again. I've also been dying to try out the new Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream scent, everyone says that it smells amazing and I've always been a fan of the Marc Jacobs range of perfumes.

The three little milk glasses are so cute and I'd love little glasses like that for my milkshakes and smoothies, along with the little stripy straws! The diary is another one of the Kikki.K products, the 365 page diary, which is a pretty nice idea. I've also been eyeing up more phone cases, and this cat phone case is super cute too! I've also been lusting after pretty flowers, especially peonies and other pretties like it. I've been browsing online and looking at a lot of the Pandora rings and pretty much wanting all of them. I have a thing for pretty stone rings, and the off pink colour of the one above is just so pretty.

Hopefully one day I won't be making wishlists and I'll be happy and content with what I have. Maybe on that day the sky will turn green and girls won't want everything shiny.  Maybe...
