lush love - a mini haul

Is there actually anything better than a night in for pampering yourself? Nope. That's the simple answer, and Lush certainly make a bit of pampering well and truly easy. I wasn't feeling the greatest the other day, after having finished eight days at work and clocking just about eighty hours without a day off, I felt I deserved a well earned night of relaxation. I headed down to the Lush store on Edinburgh's Princes St and picked up a few of my absolute firm favourites. I picked up a Sex Bomb bath ballistic (x2 actually..), a Brightside bubble bar, Catastrophe Cosmetic face mask, Tea Tree water, Grease Lightning (stupid spots!), Mint Julips lip Scrub and a small bar of hand soap. I think all in all I only spent around £30, and considering how much I actually got, I was very happy. I also had a few bits and bobs still at home, like body scrubs and hair masks and things. By the end of the night I had pretty much slathered every part of my body in some sort Lush product and honestly, a few hours later, I felt like I could be poured into a bowl,

Good old Lush coming to the rescue. I now have a few days off and then I'm potentially back at work for nine days without a day off, which quite frankly I'm not going to do, given my work circumstances, but that's a rant saved for another day!

Don't forget my giveaway is still going! A chance to win a brand new Kikki.K planner!

Made From Scotland - Pop Up Boutique

I do love a good nosey around shops. There really is something quite satisfying about just wandering around a shop and looking at everything, whether you're buying anything or not. It's even more satisfying when everything you're looking at was crafted in your home country. Call it mild patriotism, call it a moment of pride, call it whatever; It was very satisfying indeed.

So, a little insight as to why I was feeling very proud of Scotland. I was invited to visit the Made From Scotland pop up boutique that has recently opened on Edinburgh's Rose Street! If you don't know, Made From Scotland is an online store that has recently delved into having an actual store that you can visit. They sell beautiful products that are made exclusively by Scottish designers, aiming to offer a variety of contemporary items ranging from home ware, jewellery, fashion and art. I was really excited when I got the email inviting me along, so I made plans to finish work early and bus it down to the city centre. I arrived a little early so I was able to get in and get a few photos of some of the designers work before they were too busy with a lot of people bustling around. There were a lot of people there, so I was glad that I got some photos before hand, it got quite crowded so it would have made getting any other photos quite difficult with bodies blocking the products.

Everything in the store was simply beautiful and, for me at least, because I knew that they were all made by Scottish designers and artists, it made them all the more appealing. I can't really put my finger on why, but there was just something about it being designed by someone in Scotland that grabbed me. I think it's because I'm so used to seeing people's homes with generic Ikea furniture (mine included), a wardrobe full of Primark clothes (mine included) and samey decorations (again, mine included) that it was lovely to see something a little out of the norm; a one off type of deal. I don't know, it's difficult to explain, but I'm sure you get the idea.

It was a lovely night, which resulted in me coming home and browsing the online shop for a solid hour and making a wishlist on my phone. I've put some of my favourite pieces below just to give you an idea of the type of thing they offer. I mean, how amazing is that floral stag?!

Hello all you lovely people!

As you have probably guessed from the title and from the actual picture in the post, I am having a little giveaway! I recently posted about my growing planner obsession and how it is fuelled by my new love for Kikki.K, which got a really great response from you guys. I had loads of emails asking for tutorials on how to set up a Filofax or planner and about what I use it for etc. So, because of this, I've decided to give you the chance to win your very own Kikki.K planner, the same one I featured here!

It is the Kikki.K Lilac Time Planner in medium, which is equivalent to a Filofax Personal size. I literally just picked this up at the depot yesterday (after paying £30 in customs charges!) and I was so excited that I just wanted to post about it right now. These planners are simply gorgeous! You can refer to my previous post about why I love them or even search Pinterest, Instagram or Facebook and see just how popular they are. It is brand new and in the original wrapping, so you'll be the first one to get your hands on it! I know a few people who wanted to get their hands on one but didn't want to pay shipping or run the risk of customs charges, so now you'll have a chance of getting one here! Pretty cool, eh? :)

Just follow the Rafflecopter below for ways to enter. This will be running from the 9th of September to midnight on the 30th of September UK time, which is in three weeks.
